Sept 14,2019 - I along with one of my church friend visited
Kia showroom in Panvel the only one in all of Navi Mumbai at that time since
then things have changed, there is one now in Nerul. Kia has been long-awaited to come to the Indian market with its premium segment the Seltos. Top-spec diesel manual
in the Tech Line (HTX+) trim. It gets a 1.5L BS-VI compliant engine. At the
time when I test drove this car, it was the only BS-VI compliant vehicle in India.
It made sense to bring that variant since it would become mandatory for all vehicles
to become BS-VI compliance after April 2020. From exterior
Kia has been always renowned for their tiger-nose grill which integrates into
the massive headlights which are by the way all LED. It gets heartbeat-shaped
DRLs and the vertically-stacked 'Ice Cube' LED fog lamps to elevate the
upmarket feel of the car. In my perspective, I kind off think the back end is
more appealing than the front, but looks are very subjective.
This comes with 1.6 L with max power
of 126 @4000 and max torque of 260@1500.
It comes with 55 litres fuel capacity and giving around 15- 17kml. The base variant
HTE 1.5 comes around 9.89 lakh at the showroom and top variant being the GTX Automatic
which comes around 17.34 at a showroom
There are many things that I like about the Kia seltos from the design perspective. I love those massive
headlights and the 17” inch alloy wheels which are available on the techline. While
sitting on the driver seat it does give you much more road presence. Kia has managed to give a luxury feel to their
SUV. I also did like the flat-bottom steering wheel which is nice to hold and gets a tilt and telescopic adjustment. It sure
does feel sporty in your hands.
